Not long after their debut in May of 1995, these pages attracted some honors and recognition (OK, so that was when the web was small and the comptition slim):
- In August 1995, “The Grand Tour” was rated among the top 5% of all sites on the web
by Point, which “rates and reviews only the best sites on the
World Wide Web. We provide surfers with a standard of excellence: a
catalog of the most lively, useful, and fun sites on the Net.”
- In October 1995, the online version of Outside magazine listed “The Grand Tour” as its recommended site of the week.
- In late 1995, the site was listed and briefly reviewed in the book “The World Wide Web Top 1,000.”
- Equally gratifying have been the messages from readers throughout the United States and all over the world: Finland, Germany, Canada, Australia, Spain, Singapore, Sweden, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Japan, even Namibia. Keep ’em coming!
